Sea42 Posted December 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2018 Our roll call would like to hold an informal book discussion for our upcoming cruise on the Marina. There are about 10 of us. Where would be a good, out of the way place for us to meet? It would be an afternoon on a sea day. Thanks for any suggestions!
Paulchili Posted December 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2018 (edited) Horizons if you do it early. They start setting up for afternoon tea by 2:30 or so. Martini’s may not be very busy at that time either. Check with the concierge. Edited December 15, 2018 by Paulchili
StanandJim Posted December 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 15, 2018 (edited) I'm always amazed at how little use the Grand Bar gets, after lunch but before dinner. Perhaps because, despite its' moniker, cocktails go begging there, unless a waiter is summoned from the nearby Casino Bar. Make sure not to conflict with the string quartet which plays there, occasionally. 😇 Edited December 15, 2018 by StanandJim

Rare ORV Posted December 15, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 15, 2018 Maybe the Card Room. I don't think it gets much use. Perhaps if the weather is nice one of the Sanctuary areas on deck 14 would work depending on the size of your group.
Sea42 Posted December 15, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted December 15, 2018 Thank you for all of the helpful suggestions! I think we'll go with one of the bar areas. Although I will look around once onboard for a place we could move to if we are fortunate to have a nice day.
Fetchpeople Posted December 15, 2018 #8 Share Posted December 15, 2018 If you say pretty please and meet at a favorable time, you might be able to use a specialty restaurant. Other than that, my guess is that the Card Room just might be empty.
Paulchili Posted December 15, 2018 #9 Share Posted December 15, 2018 The card room is practical but it is such a cold, sterile place. Maritini's or Horizons are nicer, IMO.
