michelle-nh Posted December 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2018 We've just booked our second cruise ever, and the first in 16 years. We are cruising with NCL and embarking from Barcelona. The schedule says departure is 6 pm and all guests must be boarded by 4 pm. Reading the forums, it seems that everyone rushes to board as soon as possible (e.g., by noon). But we are thinking about booking a half-day city tour with a company that will pick us up at the hotel that morning (luggage and all) and have us to the port no later than 2-2:30 pm. This should leave us plenty of time to get checked in and boarded shouldn't it?
Rare LHT28 Posted December 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2018 probably as most people would be onboard by then

angie7911922 Posted December 23, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 23, 2018 You should still have plenty of time. Most people will be on board by noon, but there are always a few people wandering on up until the cutoff time.

Rare VMax1700 Posted December 23, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 23, 2018 We have done this previously, with Barcelona Day Tours. They collected us at our hotel, stored our luggage in the van and dropped us to the cruise terminal at the end of the tour. We were there in plenty of time for boarding. ldubs Posted December 23, 2018 #8 Share Posted December 23, 2018 At that time you will likely board the ship with no lines at all. Anyway, I'm repeating, but this sounds like a great plan.
