Closest beach to Tampa Cruise Port

We'd like to spend the day at the beach when we get back to Port of Tampa before we fly out of Orlando. What's the closest decent beach?

St. Pete Beach or Clearwater Beach (more crowded).

Closest Gulf beach is about 40 minutes drive at.the Clearwater Beaches; although you can find a sand beach for Tampa Bay at the Ben T David Beach at 7740 Courtney Campbell Causeway only a about 20 minutes drive (12 miles) from the cruise ship location 612 Channelside
