Hey guys/gals you do know that John is talking about "The Love Boat"

That's right Bloodgem, many people think this is only about "The Love Boat" - Pacific Princess doing the Mexican Riviera.  It lasted roughly 250 episodes from 1977 to 1984 on first showings.  A number of vessels were used Pacific Princess, Island Princess, Ocean Princess, Royal Viking Sky and at least one Sitmar ship ( Societa Italiana Transporti Marittimi) this line was acquired By P&O Australia at some point and gives an indication why Princess seems to have an underlying Italian Theme and the loyalty reciprocation. By the end of the last series they had sailed worldwide and attracted top stars from the early years people like Andy warhol, Tom Hanks etc.

There is one ship still sailing from the original cast Boudicca (ex Royal Viking Sky 1970-1991 ex Golden Princess 1993-1997) part of the current Fred Olsen Fleet.  In the background port scenes I have spotted famous ships like Canberra.  The muster drill on Princess has now incorporated the Love Boat Theme Tune into their Muster Drill instructions. There is a lot more to this series if you can see past the ridiculous way things are done and all the crew seem to be in white shorts from time to time.

Yes, "The Love Boat" tonight is Sea Princess in Fiji with lots of on shore footage.  It is rare for Sea Princess to be featured.

OH! I wish I'd known- she was our first ship. Is she going to appear again?

There is a facility whereby you can watch on the internet under the auspices of "TV catch up" many channels do this now.  The relevant one for this programme is CBS Drama.

www.cbsdrama.tv/uk/shows.php?title=the+love+boat

Hope the link works, if not just search for TV catch up plus the programme name you want.

Sea Princess is based out of Australia but does some nice long itineraries, like Pacific Rim (77 nights), South Pacific (35 nights), Indian Ocean circle (45 nights) as well as some round the world cruises.

The Sea Princess featured as The Love Boat was built by John Brown and Company  on Clydebank.  Sailed for Princess Cruises 1986 - 1995.   The current Sea Princess, as you refer to, was built by Fincantieri  www.fincantieri.com in Italy.  Sailed for Princess 1998 - 2003 and 2005 to date.  The missing part being sailing for P&O cruises as Adonia.
