Leaving from Venice Airport... how to get from water taxi to terminal?

Hello! We'll be traveling with my father, who uses a mobility scooter, and my mother who can't walk long distances easily without resting. We arrive via cruise, but are departing from Venice airport. We have booked a private water-taxi, disabiliy-friendly, from our hotel in St Marks. 

When I was in Venice airport last (landed there, but never took off from there), I remember a long walk from the terminal to the water taxi area. 

 

Are there alternatives for us besides the long walk once we dock at the airport? We would normally also arrange for wheelchair transport for my mother once we got to the airport. 

There will be 4 of us with luggage.

They have since updated the entire complex at Marco Polo Airport.  We too remember the long walk from the water taxi/bus to the main terminal.  You will now find elevators from the water tax/bus docks to a new enclosed section with long "people mover" powered sections to the main airport terminal.  These are the same type of "people mover" you would see at most modern airports.  I hope this helps.
