some questions from a Carnival cruiser

I have sailed RCCL once many moons ago but we have been sailing carnival every year.

I am thinking of giving RCCL ago and am looking at Anthem of the Seas, can anyone help me with some questions please :)

 

1. Does Royal have an equivalent to Faster to the Fun (ON Carnival you pay a fee and you can board early, debark early and ave priority tendering) ?
2. Whats your favorite food..a Royal signature dish?
3. Any tips you can give me

4. Do any of the specialty restaurants open up for lunch free?

5.  What dining room do they assign when you have set time dining

No FTTF equivilant.  Royal bundles theirs with an internet package for between $20 and $25 per day per person and each person on the cabin must buy it.

 

Specialty restaurants charge for lunch as well as dinner

 

book your shows in the cruise planner once they become available.

RCCL has The Key, which sounds very similar to Carnival's program.

 

On any cruise line my favorite foods are Lobster and Prime Rib

 

As far as I know, the only way to get free lunch in a specialty is by purchasing a suite or loyalty status.

 

For Traditional Dining, you will be assigned to the Main Dining Room

 

Best tip is to check these boards and Facebook groups for ship specific tips.

The roast duck and the garlic shrimp

 

Don't expect it to be like Carnival, and Anthem is an amazing ship.

I got a Royal Caribbean medal on my last Enchantment cruise for Quest. It was pretty cool, but not as cool as the knowledge that I can walk in four inch stilettos without falling down (LOL, the things we do for Quest..........)

 

Not sure if they do the medals anymore as that was in 2013.

I can only think of two things that are uniquely Royal Caribbean.  1.  Their Ranger cookies.  Its their coconut oatmeal cookie (I think that's what it is) and 2, the honey stung chicken which is generally a lunch thing, I think. (I don't go to the Windjammer for dinner)

Not on some ships.  Grandeur on has one MDR, but two levels.  MTD is 5th, traditional on 4th.

Thanks. My mistake. The smallest ships I've been on are Radiance Class.

I didn't know what they were.

 

They are a small colored bead like thing on a small loop of stretchy string.

 

Supposedly, you put them on something like a beer bottle, to show who's bottle is whose.
