alanandpam Posted January 17, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2019 I am sure this has been asked before, but whats the earliest one can embark at Southampton when coming on own arrangements ?. The cruise is advertised as being docked in the centre of Bordeaux, looking at Google earth it shows an Azmara ship moored just beyond the swing bridge, ist this the case with Fred,? Thanks in advance, Alanand Pam
Cruising Nomads Posted January 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2019 On Freds website it asks that you arrive no earlier than 12.30. This does not mean that check in will open then. You will receive a cruise ticket before you sail with your check in time on. Also once you check in you may have to wait before you embark. Yes Fred usually berths in the city centre in Bordeaux
Rare Eglesbrech Posted January 19, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 19, 2019 We were there in the summer and it was berthed right in the centre. If however you are berthed on the other side of the bridge you would then be near to La Cite du vin but everyone on here who has reviewed this port has been right in the middle so you should be the same. Have a fun cruise.
alanandpam Posted January 19, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted January 19, 2019 Thanks for that, we are meeting friends in Bordeaux who live to the south of the city so it wont be too difficult for them. Again in Seville I notice that the port where Braemar is mooring is the other side of the river from the town, do Fred provide shuttle buses to somewhere more central, or is a case of organised tours ?
