Best time of year to go

I am looking at my first river cruise.

We would like to do the lower Mississippi - Memphis to New Orleans. What time of year would be best?  We were thinking either April/May or  late Sept/Oct.

 

When did you go and how was the weather?

We went in March and the weather was fine - not too hot and humid and not too chilly.  A light jacket in the mornings, maybe.

We're taking our first river cruise, Memphis to New Orleans, in May. We're very excited and hope the weather will be pleasant 🤞

We did the Thanksgiving cruise—Memphis to New Orleans—and had very nice weather. Great cruise!!
