Any info on the Breakaway? Specifically looking for butler info because it would make our day to find out that Putu would be on board. He was out butler last March and was fabulous!

I was just on the Breakaway.  Putu was not there...last I saw him was on the Star.

Concierge was Bowen Pereira

Butler was Narciso  (his card only has one name on it...no last name)

Cabin Steward was Tunita (forgot his last name)

Staff Captain Kevin Bellido

Asst. Hotel Director Nedad Maric

Cruise Director JC (Sanchez?)

We were onboard for the 19 day Gem cruise from LA to NY.  Here are the senior officers from that trip.  No guarantee about who you will have.

Captain - Marin Vucetic
Staff Captain - Guiseppe Gimmillaro
Chief Engineer - Marin Soic
Hotel Director - Metin Camurlu
Food and Beverage Director - Vikramraj Parthasrathy
Cruise Director - Claire Booth
Asst Cruise Director - Maria Katrina De La Cruz ("Kat")
Guest Service Manager - Veronica Manabat
Asst Guest Service Manager - Severina Hristova
Executive Housekeeper - Cesar Hapa
Executive Chef - Bijesh Chandran
Beverage Manager - Gusti Sumitra
Restaurant Manager - Adine Barrett
Haven Concierge - Yahira Suazo

If Yahira is still the concierge on the GEM, you are very lucky.  We had her in November on the SUN and she was wonderful.  She went above and beyond for us when we had a problem back home.  Everyone we spoke with thought she was great.  She was always around and visited every breakfast and lunch in the dining room.  She was well organized, friendly, and .......just everything a concierge should be.

I was onboard the Getaway February 3-10. Here are the senior hotel officers as of then:

Hotel Director: Errol Bailey

Asst. Hotel Director: Plamenko Bakic

Food & Beverage Director: Loredana Moldovan

Cruise Director: Paquito Fuchs

Executive Housekeeper: Jose Omier

Guest Services Manager: Irma Reyes

Executive Chef: Tyson Pinto

Beverage Manager: Dindo Ramos

Restaurant Manager: Chandra Muttam

CruiseNext Manager: Paloma Pelaez

I don’t know if there’s any turnover since then, though I know them all and don’t recall anyone talking about going on vacation.

Thanks!

On March 8, the Food and Beverage Director, Vic, leaves for vacation. Metin takes over that position and Richard Janicki will be back as hotel director.

Also, February 25, Claire Booth will be leaving and Lorena Tapia will be back as Cruise Director.

Yahira just came on January 27 so one would think she will still be here but nowadays you never know.

Cruise Director JC (Sanchez?)

Was JC Sanchez a "fill-in" or there on a full term contract?

Thanjs

Hello Casofilia:

I don't know about JC's status.  He may have said something on one of the morning shows but my memory is long but not very good.  🙂

I'll correct my spelling of the Assistant Hotel Director's name:  Nenad (not Nedad) Maric

From Day 2 of the Freestyle Daily:

Hotel Director:  Vuk  (he was about to rotate off the Breakaway)

Food and Beverage Director: Anil

Captain:  Dan Swenson

Following.

We sail on the Bliss in May, and will be interested to know who is on board.  I don't need to know now (unless you have inside information and KNOW for sure that it won't change before we embark on 5/12), because I know how quickly things change.  Just want to be sure I am staying in the loop.

For anyone sailing the Bliss end of April, beginning of May - This information would be fantastic.  Wondering if we are going to get lucky enough to have Carlos as a Concierge.  He was on the Sun, for our first NCL cruise.  Then we did the Jade last year (our 2nd NCL), and somehow fate intervened, and we had MANY crew members from our cruise on the Sun also on our Jade cruise, including Carlos..

Will we be 3rd time lucky?

Have heard many stories, good and bad, about many of the concierges...Carlos, is one of the best, from all reports and my own experiences.

If you’ve had Carlos twice you are very lucky. He is awesome. Even if you don’t have him a third time, there are many other awesome concierges. Enjoy!

DH saw it first on the envelope. Thought to myself - it CAN'T be, and said as much to him.  I was wrong.  It WAS indeed Carlos.  As well as one of the hostesses for MDR - DH recognized her. I said no way...Again, I was wrong.

Whole heartedly echo the compliment about Carlos - SUN sailing Sept '17.

Had a hard time the Butler was Carlos on the same sailing - these were a dynamic duo.

The cabin steward fortunately was not a tri-peat just another nameless crew member.

Disembarking at San Francisco Carlos personally escorted us to the airport transportation.

He could always be found at La Cucina at breakfast to help arrange your days activities.

The best of the best !

I have been reading some stuff on the boards about a Concierge on the Dawn that is awful. We sail Nov and hope we do not get this one. What is the protocol for this? What happens if anyone you get is not up to standard? Can you talk to the Hotel Director? If nothing changes, who else. I’m pretty laid back but if I’ve spent 6-8000 on a suite I expect a certain level of service and I won’t be quiet about it. Anyone else?

I don’t know what you’re read about the Concierge on the Dawn, if it is Roy you are reading about ( not Roel 2 different people ) I cannot imagine what anyone could have to say that is negative . We have on,y been in the Haven all 18 NCL cruises many of those with Roy as our Butler. I would be thrilled to have him as a Concierge. I think that the expectations of a Concierge need to be established. What is up to standard?

What I have heard is about Roel but in a previous post someone said they were one in the same. Not sure how accurate that is.

As for what I feel is up to standard, I would expect to see and/or speak to the Concierge at least once per day. Inquiring if we need any reservations or what have you. I would also expect if he is asked to do something, that it be done. With minimal excuses or with alternative suggestions if the request is not doable.

Just back from the Sun.  Carlos was indeed the concierge and someone from the suites made arrangements with him to escort our Cruise Critic members on tours, off the ship.  Other officers:

Igor Futivic, Hotel Director

Claudia Condurachi, Guest Service Manager

Jeimy Caro, Cruise Director (she was wonderful)

Roel and Roy are two different people I have sailed many times with both. Roy has on,y been a Concierge for about 2 months. I have never known either one to be less than stellar in accommodating requests. I have seen first hand the demands some people make and I believe some have expectations that are just ridiculous. The Concierge does his or her job but they are not private servants. I am sure given your expectations you’ll have a great cruise. By November who knows who will be onboard. Not even NCL knows yet.

If the last name was known about Roy it would help differentiate the two - Last name for Roel was Gonzalas.

Roel was the Concierge on my DAWN cruise in January 2015 - September 2015 and again October 2018.

Thus if Roy was recently promoted from Butler to Concierge they are not the same person.

Years - ago maybe 2012- we had a great butler (suite) named Roy Peregrino..I saw him onboard  a couple of years later..and said  he had been moved to being a haven butler .  Could this be the same Roy?

This is very helpful information. Is there any chance that you know the names of the Food & Beverage Director and/or Restaurant Manager? I’ll be on the Sun for its repositioning in 3 weeks.

Sorry. I laughed because your photo shows that the Bliss has officers but it is too small to read or recognize anyone.
