For those not in the know - the ship outside in that picture is the Norwegian Encore, due to launch in November.

As for the RCI ship - did they bring the engine room section up the river in pieces and assemble it there before floating it into the assembly hall or were those other sections of the ship being brought up on the barge?  I thought they'd brought the engine room section up-river in one piece for previous ships.

Engine room section brought in one piece from Neptun Werft.

Help me understand if I have this right.

The section we are seeing is mid ship, where the hump is immediately aft of the Esplanade and features such as the bionic bar and shore excursions.  Do I have that correct?

If so, is there an extra set of lifeboat davits where normally the outdoor seating for Jamie's would be located?

If I'm looking at the correct area of the ship normally there is the fast rescue craft, a small lifeboat, a gap for Jamie's outdoor seating and then additional larger lifeboats aft.

Spectrum has the gap between lifeboats and outdoor seating area.

Again in this photo by Gerd Lehmann you can see the additional davits.

More lifeboats to accommodate more guests?  Has the Jamie's outdoor seating been eliminated?

Or am I looking at this all wrong?

I believe you are correct sir!

Less broom closets = more cabins = more passengers = more life boats.
