Is it really worth it to have a Suite?

All of you cruisers who like full suites need to knock it off.  Go back to booking mini-suites.  You will save a lot of money.  The drop in demand for full suites will cause Princess to lower the price.  That will save me a lot of money when I book a suite.😉

Great idea.   I always book them when they first open and my cruises never sell out so I have never had a price drop.   That would be nice!!!   The problem I see is that they are offering upsells for a small fraction of the price - again, people take the offer and no discount for those of us that plan far ahead.   Give us a break once in a while!!!

voljeep,  Enjoy your cruise.    You should get a balcony dinner on an evening you leave port 7 or after.    We love sitting on the balcony watching the island get smaller and smaller but having the dinner out there is very nice.

we've got a comp breakfast - gonna try to get that amount applied to a UBD, but yeah - we will be eating 'something' on the balcony leaving port - it's a late evening port  -  9 pm so maybe start something around 7:30 or so

Our old TA use to give us the balcony breakfast every cruise.   I hinted many times that we never used it because of Sabitinis.   I always was able to exchange it for OBC.   The customer service people completely understood when I said we go to Sabitini's.  If they give you any issues, do tell them to apply it to a UBD.   And do the UBD as soon as possible since they give you flowers.  Then you can enjoy them longer.  I still miss the flowers.

4 days only - Ft Lauderdale, at sea, Cozumel, at sea, FTL - we will try to do it the port night in Cozumel - but yeah about the flowers - my wife absolutely hates that we have had to leave those on board ...

I have only had one time where I booked a owners suite,(with different cruise line), and four months after booking my travel agent called to say the price went down $800; so they were going to give me that much in OBC.

In the process of booking a suite on the Royal Princess.  I haven't seen the VIP Disembarkation mentioned above.  On other cruise lines, we've had a personal escort off of the ship (or at least a group escort from the concierge lounge, so that we could disembark at our leisure).
How does Princess handle the VIP disembarkation?

Nope! We are in a suite on the Royal and sitting in the lounge waiting to disembark. No special disembarkation procedure for suite passengers. Princess is nothing like NCL when it comes to suite treatment.

No one escorted us on the ship and we did not know anything about walking off. I asked about suite priority disembarkation but was first told that they dId not do that. Then I pulled up the suite perk info and showed it to her. She changed her tune and let us disembark. [emoji15]

On the Majestic Princess, suite passengers were able to use the VIP/Concierge lounge on the Riviera deck for disembarkation. The rep stayed in constant communication on the radio as to when we could leave. They also opened the doors of the adjacent meeting room to accommodate more of us. The usual food and espresso machine was available for use.

That stinks that you were not escorted onto the ship.  We have only sailed twice with orincess and both times we received an escort.  Oh well when they send you an email feedback write that up.

I just want to say thank you to everyone that has replied to this thread! I started it awhile back when my Mom and I were in the planning stages of our cruise. Happy to report that we are sailing next month on a 7 day Alaska cruise in a suite! YAY!! This is our first mother/daughter vacation in a really long time and we are so excited!

Anyone know if the teas are the basic ones, or the premium teas (e.g. the ones you pay for at the International Cafe)?

Also, can you take a beverage "to go" (e.g. a coffee or cocoa)?

Ok...having a suite is all well and good and I'm pleased that those of you who choose suites will be enjoying the experience.  If you put your suite money into more cruises you will get what you consider "extras" as everyday things.  Even your breakfast menu is available in the MDR every morning...maybe not all at once but anything on that menu can be ordered the day before and you'll get it. Save your money and work your way to Elite.  Try to make your 'Cruising experience" less of a stateroom experience and more of a Port experience....unless, of course, your on a TA.....🤗..then your stateroom can become your experience LOL

Everyone values things differently.  Obviously, you wouldn't value the suite experience, and just as obviously many people would disagree with you.
