Travel insurance for Canadians after the cruise

We are Canadians cruising from Southampton to Australia.   We have insurance for that part of the trip, but need coverage for after we get off the ship as we will  be spending  a month or so in Australia and the flying back to Canada.  We are not allowed to "top up" our cruise insurance to cover the extended amount of time.  Surely other Canadians have encountered this situation; any suggestions?
