Costa Maya Port Area - What to do

We are going to Costa Maya for the first time next year. We plan to just get off the ship and wander around the port area and maybe buy a few souvenirs.

Is this port conducive to this type of activity? Does it have a place we can just sit and relax and maybe have a drink?

Thanks in advance.

Costa Maya has a really long pier.   There is a nice port shopping area and a nice place to just sit and have a drink.

Watch out for a guy with a cute monkey.  If the monkey climbs on you, you're expected to pay for a picture.

Thanks for the info exactly what I was looking for.👍

Thanks for the heads up re: the "monkey business"  😄

Take the little shuttle trolley ($2) to Mahual, about 2 miles away.  Beautiful boardwalk and beach.  Just buy a drink at any of the bars along the way and you can use their beach chairs for free.  Also cheap beach massages along the boardwalk/beach.
