Card rooms and informal card games question

Some ships have specific "card/game" rooms while others permit card playing in common areas (e.g. the MDR between meals.)  Frequently roll calls mention wanting to hold an informal game of bridge, cribbage, euchre, etc.

Are there any conditions put on these games by the cruise lines regarding gambling?  Would a cribbage or euchre game at say 10 cents a point in a common ship area where cards are usually played be acceptable?  What about a low-limit poker game using chips?

unless you are playing  euchre with just your close circle of friends/family,  money should not be involved on board.   in my family,  its cut throat....and a lot of  bad blood happens.  and no money is involved.   but it has led to arguments and fisticuffs.  Ship Security frowns on that sort of thing.

as for poker. be prepared to be told to play in the casino if you want to have money involved.
