First Timer - Which Beach?

In Oct 2017 we were scheduled to visit St. Maarten but the hurricane hit and our itinerary changed. I'm very excited to finally visit this island and was wondering from those seasoned travelers which beach property would be best to visit? A nice beach with a bar is all we need to have a good time! Because we usually sail out of Galveston we don't get the opportunity for this type itinerary as often - would love to hear your recommendations if you recently visited.
