Most people would feel more comfortable in pants/khakis, but we saw folks in shorts and jeans in the MDR. Absolutely you can wear shorts after 6PM.  MSC had a few more people wearing tuxes and such, but the majority were very casual- no different than NCL, RCCL, etc.

We visited recently with Marella(UK Cruise company) walked up into town and got bus €1.5 each alone coast which is beautiful.

Last time we got a taxi trip to national Park and waterfall and thought island no worse than many places in France.
