First time cruiser and AARP cards...

This will be my families first cruise.....could someone explain the AARP cards? How do they work? Can you use them for the CHEERS program or gratuity? Are there any limitations? Thanks!

There are no limitations and you can use them for anything.

They are Carnival gift cards sold through AARP. They are no different than the Carnival gift cards sold in stores, malls, etc.

 

Buying them through the Rewards program with AARP nets a 10% price reduction (minus the shipping charges).

I use them to book our cruise, gratuities, taxes/port fees,  pay off our cruise, shore excursions, room drinks or cheers, and then put them on for onboard credit for  10% off EVERYTHING! Gambling, drinks, stuff at stores, pay for restaurants.
