How late is too late?

Hi,

We are taking the Ruby Princess up to Alaska on June 1st from Seattle. The departure time is listed as 4pm in Seattle. We would like to sightsee as long as possible. What is the latest time we can get to the dock without risking literally missing the boat?

Thanks

Jonathan

The ship has to transmit the passenger manifest to the US Government before sailing so they close the doors to the terminal half hour before departure time. I would not suggest cutting the time to board to a minimum.  Our DS lives in Seattle and traffic there can be a huge pain with the delays.  The port Princess uses is in an industrial/port area with few access points.  Plan ahead.

CHECK-IN REQUIREMENTS FOR DEPARTURES FROM U.S. PORTS

You are required to provide complete and accurate immigration information in advance of your cruise via the Cruise Personalizer at princess.com up to 2 days prior to sailing. If you have not provided your details in advance you MUST be checked-in no later than 90 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time or you will be denied boarding.

Ok I am gonna shoot for 130 to 2pm. Thank you all so much!

While you are out pay a visit to Pike Market to get some fresh flowers to take on the ship with you. Only about $5 for a nice bunch. Our room steward even found a vase for us.
