Ocean Ready Runaround

After weeks of getting the runaround from the Ocean Ready Navigator staff, it's time to escalate the issue.

Does anyone know the phone number or e-mail address of the President of Princess Cruise line?

For the past three weeks, I've been updating the Ocean Ready App to have the Medallions mailed to my home address.

The App says it will be sent but, when I call the 1-844-525-0942 number and speak with the staff, they tell me it can be picked up at the port.  That's not what I want.  Been trying to get this corrected for weeks, so it's time to touch base with upper management.

Thanks!

It takes a while from when you order the medallion until you get it. We are a group of four couples sailing next week on the Regal - we all ordered at different times (some of us were weeks apart) yet the medallions were shipped on the same day and we all received them on the same day. 3 of us are in Florida, but one couple lives in NJ.

It has to be more than coincidence that they all arrived on the same day, I'm assuming they collect as many of them as they can per ship and per sailing and ship them at the same time.

Did you get an order number and confirmation from Ocean Ready in an e-mail? If so, just be patient, you are still several weeks away from your sailing.

I mean no offence by this, but why does it matter where you receive the medallion?

If a company advertises a product or service and says it is available using two different systems,  expectation is that if people opt for system "B" this should happen.  If it does not people feel let down, disappointed etc.  This can get totally out of all proportion in one's mind.

I agree John, sometimes it’s the principle of putting something out there, with minimal to do details. Set the stage up front and most people are good; if you should expect the medallion 10 days before sailing, just level set.

Happy Cruising!

"minimal to do details." Seems like there is quite a bit of detail. Not just the app, but the websites:

https://www.ocean.com

https://oceanview.ocean.com/

Also a lot of detail in the Terms of Agreements for the various apps and the last paragraphs of the Passage Contract.

My main issue with the Ocean Ready Support Dept. has been coordination between the contact person who takes the information and then passes it on to the software person who can actually make corrections. Frustrating  to talk to a person who sees the issue and agrees, but says she can't make changes. Then get an e-mail saying the problem has been corrected when it hasn't. Then start the process over again. Especially when you are told it will all be fine on embarkation.

We sailed on two of the "Medallion" cruises on Regal when this program was suppose to work, guess what, neither cruise was up and running, so who really cares, sounds like they have fixed all the problems and the program works. Have some patience and don't sweat the small stuff and enjoy your cruise and quit complaining. We enjoy EVERY cruise we're on and don't sweat the small stuff or listen to the complainers, just saying.

I would like to have the Medallions at home so we can expedite the boarding process; it get very frustrating when the App says Medallions will be shipped, but the Ocean Ready Navigator staff says we can only pick them up at the port.  The App indicates one thing and the staff says something else.  I was never told that the Medallions would be shipped two weeks prior to cruise; if I was told that,  then subject closed.  Only after I contacted Customer Service did I get this accurate information.  And responding to HobbyFarmer2--I wasn't complaining, I was just trying to obtain correct information.  And DDG41, yes it does matter.

On my January cruise on the Regal we had to wait until we checked in to get the medallion and card. The delay was perhaps 2-3 minutes at most.

Can't really argue if that is what makes you happier.  No offense intended.

I wonder what happens if the Medallion is shipped to your home in advance of the cruise, but you forget to bring it? I'm sure another could be programmed for you at check in, but would Princess charge you for that?

Guessing the cruise is important to you.

Best not to forget important stuff.

We started cruising in 2003, (true--there are many others that have cruised more), and have cruised once a year; we really enjoy it.  But in 2017, I had double TKR and couldn't cruise in 2018 so, we are really looking forward to this cruise. And yes Ep010835, it is important to us, my wife and I both work hard during the year and look forward to our annual cruise.  Happy Cruising All!

Enjoy your rebound cruise! I hope you get this sorted prior to embarkation!

I've often wondered about that. Even on the ships they don't have that capability at the PSD and have to send it downstairs to have it redone.

There were about 5 cabins that didn’t have medallions waiting for them when we checked in for our 1/13/19 Regal sailing, mine included. (They has mailed them from Singapore but recalled them in Hong jobs!) They said we would get them on board a s they would be sent to our cabins.

I actually had to go to customer service after boarding and request them as the check in desk didn’t bother. We received them on day 2 of our cruise.

So if anyone forgets them or loses them, they will make new ones.

Hi let me chime in. I hear you want to expedite the boarding process.  I am currenly onboard Caribbean Princess with ocean medallion.  If you don’t get your medallionprior to your cruise you will only need the boarding pass below. You show a picture of this and your passport to security. The are literally 50 ocean medallion reps at the port.  Tell them you want to pick up your medallion. They will escort you to an area to pick up your medallion and your directed to boarding area.  It is simple.  The biggest holdup getting onto ship on embarkation day is not having a security photo.  People took a profile photo but not security photo or if they took a security photo it was a side picture and not full frontal. If you don’t have your security photo the princess staff will take one with their iPad hope this helps.

As others have stated, Princess states shipped or at embarkation. Since it appears they have the manufacturing and programming of the OM in hand, that leaves shipping. From what I have read, they usually go out about 10 days before embarkation and take two days to be delivered. IF THEY KNOW there is going to be an issue in this timing, I can see them being handed out at the port.
