love2travel2146 Posted February 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2019 What would you say are the benefits to the NCL app? Also, for our next cruise, we have two staterooms, but I can only add one of the staterooms to the app right now. How do I add the second stateroom? Thank you. Rare eileeshb Posted February 23, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2019 You’ll need someone from the second stateroom to be setup on myNCL and have the reservation showing in. That account, at that point they should be able to use the app. Probably a good idea to have every person setup their own myNCL and make sure the reservation shows in those accounts. You can call the help desk if it doesn’t. If you want to use the messaging via the app during the cruise you have to pay per-device, but the other functions in the app are free to use with the ship’s WiFi and you don’t need an internet package to do so,
Rare mking8288 Posted February 24, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2019 As noted above, easiest way is to have someone in the 2nd. stateroom setup the App, by registering and activating it on their mobile device(s) as "cookies" (non-edible) are placed on the device - using one of the registered guests' Latitude/online profile, username and password, as it is associated with the Guest Reservation booked initially. I am not sure if they can link and merge it together, as that can be problematic with onboard charges & allocation of expenses being debited and posting of any credits or adjustments, etc. Once that is done - you can log in and log off, and repeat with the "other" stateroom's profile credentials (username & password) - review it, book dining and shows, shorex, etc. These functions are free and easy to use. Calling & texting to/from other registered users onboard the ship has a one-time charge, good for the duration of the "current" cruise - it only used the ship's WiFi inTRAnet - inTERnet access or minutes/MB used and needed. Rare mking8288 Posted February 24, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 24, 2019 Messaging App "typically" is $9.95 per device (same pricing for 7 days and for 14 days on the Escape recently) For 2 passengers to call or text each other, you will be registering and activating 2 devices at a cost of $19.90 - a 8 digit number will be assigned to the device.
