xostacylee Posted February 27, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2019 I've searched the forums, but my apologies if it's somewhere else! Is this something you book while onboard? If so, when do you suggest booking it? Day 1? Is it done every night? One night only? How much money per person does it cost? What does it entail? I've seen threads dedicated to this that it's multi-course and folks tend to not eat everything, but I couldn't find one easy spot for the answers. Thank you! coevan Posted February 27, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2019 you book the Chef's Table online in advance. You will get an email confirmation from Carnival. You don't know which night until you board, there will be a note in your cabin. The cost is $95 pp tip included. It entails showing up at the specified time with an empty stomach. They pour wine all night included in the price, cocktails are extra. The meal is like 7 courses, it's not a contest. The food is fabulous, each course is described by the Chef. If it's not to your tastes, don't eat it, there is no pressure to finish each course.
SandiLynn Posted February 27, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Price is different depending which ship you are on. We done the two on the Dream and it was $90pp, Triumph was $75, and The cruise Manager has $75 for our future cruise on Glory. You can book through you MY CRUISE MANAGER. We have loved it and although we have done three and all three menus were the same, the places you meet and eat are different on each ship.
nybumpkin Posted February 27, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2019 (edited) As to how often they schedule Chef's Table on a cruise - when we did our 7-day Bermuda cruise in 2017, they scheduled it at on at least three nights - there may have been a fourth. It depends on the ship and the length of the cruise. I think they try to avoid scheduling it on elegant nights. xostacylee Posted February 27, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Thank you guys! I will take a look on the cruise manager. We're doing a 4-day cruise... are they usually 7-day cruises?
SandiLynn Posted February 27, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 27, 2019 They try to accommodate every one that wants to do it. Only 14 people at a time are allowed per night.
SandiLynn Posted February 27, 2019 #7 Share Posted February 27, 2019 We did one on a five night cruise.
xostacylee Posted February 27, 2019 Author #8 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Thank you again! Just put in the request for our trip - it's $75 per person on the Liberty. Hoping we get selected! Doesn't say what night, but I'm fine with whatever LOL. It's an early anniversary trip for me and my boyfriend so we're very excited!
Butterbean1000 Posted February 27, 2019 #9 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Is there a menu you can check before hand? I don't consider myself a picky eater, but I've seen some strange dishes that I have no interest in.
SandiLynn Posted February 27, 2019 #10 Share Posted February 27, 2019 I and my family and friends would say I am a very picky eater, but I have to admit I loved the menu. I have texture issues with food, but loved this experience.
xostacylee Posted February 27, 2019 Author #11 Share Posted February 27, 2019 When I looked online it doesn't say any menu. It does however ask if you have a food allergy, so there may be some way to personalize it. Otherwise my guess it's you get what they make. SandiLynn Posted February 28, 2019 #12 Share Posted February 28, 2019 We had a lady with a food allergy on the last time we did the Chiefs table. They did not give her the items that had the allergy. They gave her a replacement but she did not know ahead of time what it would be.
crzndeb Posted February 28, 2019 #13 Share Posted February 28, 2019 I don’t think the menu has changed. I googled it.
