I would not be concerned about the creaking. It is supposed to act like a ship!!!  However visible shims are unacceptable.

We've had many aft cabins and understand that there is more motion , engine noise and creaking then most of the cabins on the ship . But we have never seen shims like that on a ship before . Nor have we heard loud music late at night and early in the morning and water dripping in the walls incessantly .  For us it seemed like the Carnivalization of HAL and not why we cruise HAL .

Shims on a new ship. Perhaps that is usual, but it doesn’t sound right.

I did have this happen on one of the older ships.  The room would creak very loud to the point we HAD to have someone do something about it.  They shimmed the ceiling.  Sad though to hear about this on a newer ship.

The center room where we stayed 3 years later was shimmed for the Crown molding fit - but it didn't make much noise . A much quieter location .
