Rare niksmom630 Posted March 13, 2019 Author #152 Share Posted March 13, 2019 There was quite a bit of conversation on the boards around the seaweed problems in Costa Maya. Our tour driver even brought it up, but our excursion beach in Mahahaul looked pretty good. Overall, I would rate this excursion a 6 out of 10.For around $80 per person, it was overpriced for one drink voucher and snacks. After the whole guacamole and salsa making process, there was about 10 minutes of salsa dancing instruction, and then we were given an hour and a half of free time for the beach and shopping. When I asked where we could find “beach” chairs, they directed us to an area with white resin “dining” type chairs in the sun [emoji15] wound up “renting” three lounge chairs for the price of three drinks. Then spent the next hour and a half saying “no, thank you!” to the parade of vendors hawking their wares. Far from relaxing. [emoji35] thankfully we have Nachi Cocum tomorrow, which never disappoints [emoji3590]Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rare niksmom630 Posted March 13, 2019 Author #155 Share Posted March 13, 2019 Tonight’s dinner was in the MDR. The waitstaff seemed surprised and happy to see us. [emoji847] No doubt things are slow in there with all the specialty dining options Service was spectacular. In fact, it reminded me of how much we enjoyed meals in the MDR when we first started sailing Royal years ago [emoji3590]I think we may finish out the week there.Escargot Ceviche Cesear SaladChicken Parmesan DessertsSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was getting a little worried as I have seen so many people doing most of their dining in the specialty restaurants and giving the MDR less than stellar reviews. Rare crewsweeper Posted March 13, 2019 #167 Share Posted March 13, 2019 (edited) Obviously your Costa Maya excursion was a ship excursion. Just curious if you know the actually name of the beach club? Cost seems way over priced for even the 2 AIs along the malecon. And certainly well over priced for walk up places like Tropicante. Enjoy your day at Nachi...you desire it. Edited March 13, 2019 by crewsweeper

No signs either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks Yes it is another bar/showroom. From my experience they usually have Filipino cover bands in there. It is two stories behind the stage is one big window overlooking the Boardwalk. A really nice space.
