hi all

which deck on the Royal Princess has the largest balcony/covered? I know that on the Crown, it is Caribe deck, but will be sailing for the first time on the Royal and don't want to make a mistake!

Thanks in advance

All side balconies are covered. Royal class ships do not have tiered/wedding cake sides.  Balconies are uniform too to bottom, all basically fully covered.

There's a few exceptions on the sides, the forward Emerald deck ones that have the metal railings are much deeper - so partially uncovered.

Aft is tiered, so balconies are uncovered. Dolphin deck is deeper than Caribe.

Forward facing balconies are all deeper, and thus partially uncovered.

The mini-suite Balconies under Seawalk/Seaview are also larger, especially the ones at the "points" (see deck plan). They're all fully covered by above. Be aware that the first few decks under the Seawalk are pretty much totally exposed to anyone walking on the Seawalk. The vast majority just walk on by, it's a one a done. A few pause for photos.

So, with a few exceptions, all the balconies are covered and same sized.

The Royal and the Regal have very small balconies.

My DHand I have been on theses ships and we found that we had to sit parallel to the railing, facing each other to sit on the balconies.

The balconies are not like those found on the Grand class ships, where Caribe deck has the larger balconies that are partially covered.

We are booked on the Sky Princess next March in a mid-ship mini suite with an angled balcony. We are hoping that the design of this balcony affords us a bit more space.
