Upgrade bid experiences

I haven’t added anything to the upgrade spreadsheet since January 2020 for obvious reasons.

I’m interested to know if people would still find the information in the spreadsheet useful. If enough people are interested I’ll start adding to it. If you can’t remember what’s on it, here’s the link to it  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pEoojQ5-EPmD4cI3gw1dVcYfYTXfZePdDXxU09l0H3M/edit

Won an upgrade from Veranda to N2. We were surprised as we had given up on it and only 5 days until boarding.

Bid was made mid December for our january 18th sailing with Journey.

Our bid was 4000 NOK ( 400€) p.p and was considered weak.

We were also successful on our upgrade bid from Oceanview to Veranda Plus for January 18th cruise on Journey.  Bid was made on Dec 7th, it was considered weak. We paid $385 P.P. CAD.

See you on board😁🥂

Unfortunately we are ineligible for the bid upgrade scheme. Does anyone know if we could purchase an upgrade once onboard, or by that time have they mainly all gone through the bid system.?

We have done on board upgrades with Seabourn and Windstar before, both offering sensible priced upgrades at the Hotel directors discretion, with a bit of room for bartering.

One can always check front desk after embarking and inquire if there are any upgrades available. There are last minute cancellations due to illness, travel delays etc.and in today’s world if someone test positive there will be a vacant cabin.☹️

We are being extra cautious this week so we will have negative test when we board Quest Sunday.😷

Very good prices

Especially as at launch the prices were very reasonable compared with what we have seen recently.

We’ve had a punt on a Spa Suite, not that hopeful but it’s a grade we’ve not traveled in yet.

Sorry to ask, but have you been offered  the upgrade or have you placed a bid?

The offers for 8 night on Pursuit on 25 March 22 from our cabin (N1 CC suite) are:

SP -  Spa £990 to £1910pp

CO - Ocean £1295 to £2670pp

CW - Owners £1525pp to can't recall

There are 3 CW still for sale (deck 2xdeck 6 and 1xdeck 9) but others are sold out.

We've put a low bid in for CW - if we get it, great. If not, c'est la vie and still happy with our N1.

We had an SP cabin in Oct 21 so don't need to try that type of cabin and don't like forward cabins so didn't put in a bid for CO.

Just placed a minimum bid, not too worried if we don’t get it.

Thank you. We cannot get our documents to open in our account  yet...it says documents unavailable for this cruise....(and the others, but they are further away than Onward's inaugural.)

You can’t access it from your account, there is a form on the Azamara website under “Booked” in the menu, here’s a link to the page:

https://www.azamara.co.uk/azamara-upgrade-programme

For us it didn’t open up until we were at the 60 days stage we also received an email the same day with the information I posted.

Yes - that's what is worrying us. The Onward inaugural is now only 51 days away and no contact from Azamara.

There are certain types of booking that are excluded from the upgrade scheme, if you booked a travel agents package for instance.

Our lowest bid for the CW was accepted overnight from N1.

We received the email at 8.30pm (UK time) on 16 March for 25 March sailing.

Pleased to say we were allocated deck 6 and not deck 8.  I'd much rather have the engine growl below us than noise from sunset veranda above.

Looking forward to the trip even more now.
