Port Everglades Carry On Size

I know this has been asked before but after reading about a hundred comments :classic_blink: I haven't found a direct answer 😄

Have you been through Port Everglades with a larger than airline-size carryon, and did your carry on fit through the xray machine? If so, what size was it?

Likewise if you had a bag rejected how large was it and what did they do, send it to be checked or hand-search and pass it?

Thanks in advance for your help!  And, I promise to come back and post our experience after we depart.

The xray machines are the same size as those in airports.  I suggest calling the port (954-523-3404) with the measurements of the piece(s) of luggage to see if they will fit and, if they don't, the process for getting them onto the ship.

Thanks, I probably will call the port, but I also figure that whoever is on the phones may not have specific information.

The size of luggage allowed on airplanes isn't related to the size of the scanner but to the size of overhead compartments and under-seat spaces.

I was responding to your question about the actual size of the opening in the xray machine.  I don't have the measurements but It is the same machine as those used in airports.

I carry on my suitcase for every cruise 7 days or less.

It is hard side, measures 24" x 18" x 11". Maybe a fraction more, when fully loaded and bulging.

There is not much room to spare, but has made it through the XRay machine in Port Everglades, Port Canaveral, and Port of Tampa without any problem, either from staff, or from the machine.
