TheTides Posted March 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2019 I just went on FB and saw the new photos for the refurbished Sky and all I can say is wow! They have done a really nice job updating these older ships, and this make me more inclined to take a shorter cruise on her. Also in my opinion “Perfect Day” coco Cay looks like a giant theme park, so I for one am really excited they updated the Sky to compete with the new RCCL ships, even though there really isn’t much comparison between the two ship wise (besides the drink package)

Going on the Sky this weekend and would love to see some good photos of the updates! I feel like all I've seen so far is the Bliss Lounge and the buffet's outdoor dining area.

Cruiser_1977 Posted March 19, 2019 #7 Share Posted March 19, 2019 WOW looks great. I was on her in June 2018 and enjoyed it. Glad she got a little facelift 🙂
Rare BirdTravels Posted March 19, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 19, 2019 While beautiful, it is sad to see the Pride of Aloha sail into the sunset.

I'll be on her this weekend too. Can't wait and am even more excited after all these photos. The staterooms especially look great - they were in dire need of a refresh. See you in a couple days! Sunkissed Mommy Posted March 19, 2019 #14 Share Posted March 19, 2019 I'd love to see passenger pics of the ship. I'm never a fan of highly edited professional pics of ships because well, they are usually highly edited. Although I like what I see from their promo images. Now waiting for real people pictures 😉
david_sobe Posted March 19, 2019 #15 Share Posted March 19, 2019 It all looks very nice especially Cagneys. Although I miss that gazebo type thing that was the center of the restaurant like I miss the tree that was removed from La Cucina on Epic

stormynow Posted March 20, 2019 #17 Share Posted March 20, 2019 Most of the rehab is pretty good. Remember the nice wood paneling in and around Capt Cooks, all replaced with white plastic and wall paper. Not an improvement IMO. Rooms all looked the same, day we sailed were replacing the rusty bathroom doors.
stormynow Posted March 20, 2019 #18 Share Posted March 20, 2019 Forgot to mention the piano was moved to the atrium bar. Barry wasn't very happy about that. Not much seating area.

The Hawaiian decor added some character and reflected her history. My husband and I sailed on the Sky back in 2011. She looks beautiful now, but also like a completely different ship!
