Kid Friendly, etc out of New York

We are booking a birthday cruise. We will have 3 cabins and children ranging in age from 2 to 14. We will also have 1 grandma. Has to be out of NYC or NJ end of July or anytime in August 2019, this summer. Any family cruises you love out of the new york area? Royal only has the Adventure of the Seas out of Bayonne and the cabins are pretty booked. Insight on Carnival/NCL? Would like some entertainment the kids can attend at night also, and easy on the "public" drinking. Thank You!

Carnival will take kids from 2 up in their Camp Ocean.  And they change diapers.  They have Night Owls after 10pm with a charge.  EM

Carnival is a fine line, especially for families!  There will be "public" drinking on EVERY ship in EVERY cruise line....drinking is NOT relegated to bars.   7 night or longer have fewer "partiers", so don't take a 3-4 nighter if that would offend you.

 

All of the shows (except perhaps, the comedians) would be "family friendly.  Anything that is "racy" will be labeled "Adult only".

Royal's Anthem of the Seas is out of Bayonne too and currently has a kids sail free promo.

NCL Escape from NYC to Bermuda will have tons of kids activities, and has a nursery for kids under 3.
