Cruise price takes a tumble

Booking early means lower deposits usually and gives you better options of cabins/location. Along with being able to make payments making final payment minimal.

Booking last minute/after final payment needs to be Paid in Full when booking. Yes there are deals  to be had on cabins (usually not the best), however airfare if needed will generally be higher.

OP you are owed nothing, you rolled the dice and it didn't work. Costly lesson for sure.

Thank you all for your answers! I totally did understand NCL ‘s cruise policy!

Their agent told me because of the large amount of difference that they would make an adjustment. For next time I will not book early and book closer to sailing time!

By the way, our TA was wonderful!

NCL offered either or 500 per person to spend on board or 625 $ for a new cruise. Enjoy!

Then you did well.   $500 PP of OBC is pretty good.  Congrats.

Thanks Murray...

I did, I spoke to quite a few people, including corporate headquarters in Fla. tel#  305 436 4000. No budging !

5,000 is quite a hunk of change!

I will never pay the full final payment again. If we all don't put up an uproar they can get away with anything!

If you don't make final payment they cancel your cruise. So on the flip side if prices increased by $1000 you would have no problem with NCL charging your card right? What's good for the goose is good for the gander. They owe you nothing, if you get on OBC or discount on another cruise it's a gift.
