Trend Posted April 29, 2019 Author #26 Share Posted April 29, 2019 Thanks for the advice as we had not even looked at East London yet.
Mercury Posted April 30, 2019 #27 Share Posted April 30, 2019 Regarding East London: Nahoon Beach is very beautiful and worth a visit. Would also recommend a visit to Marlene Neumann's Gallery in East London. She won the South African Creative Art award a few years ago. She also has a book "Sky meets Land" which would make a perfect souvenir of this area as it has the most beautiful photographs. http://www.marleneneumann.com/about-marlene/

Mercury Posted May 3, 2019 #29 Share Posted May 3, 2019 I just checked in case I had missed something re Nahoon Beach deteriorating. The latest reviews on TripAdvisor give it the thumbs up. It is a popular surfing beach too. Of course, if you are worried about water quality, the views are still spectacular. Enjoy your time in South Africa! https://www.tripadvisor.co.za/Attraction_Review-g312556-d9762434-Reviews-Nahoon_Beach-East_London_Eastern_Cape.html#REVIEWS https://www.sa-venues.com/things-to-do/easterncape/nahoon-beach/

It was an amazing experience - if you can, do it!
Trend Posted May 9, 2019 Author #32 Share Posted May 9, 2019 Would love to do the Sani Pass but I am told we are not in port long enough. We arrive at 7:30 and depart at 6 so given you are not off till about 8 and need to return by 5 that makes it tight on time.

My husband spends his days in a car driving so when on holiday he tends to like to relax and leave driving to others. We generally do our own tours booking private guides or group from role call. Just surprised at cost quotes so far like even from Cape Town to the wine region for a day stopping in two or three wineries. Or the Cape area tour to Boulder Beach and area so any tour people you can recommend would help. We did the Durban City Tour and Phezulu Cultural Village tour the first part of April Guide was excellant. In East London we didn't do a tour and was advised not to do a DIY walk around in the downtown area. Took the ship's shuttle to a mall (free wi-fi) that was similar to malls in the US. Work with africa2go and ask for Anja. She booked my falls and Kenya tour plus my wine tour
