Galenaforest Posted March 26, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2019 We called Seabourn but they weren’t able to tell us. They said they would need to find out. Thanks to anyone recently in HCMC.
SKP946 Posted March 26, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2019 We were down from the big bridge last year on Sojourn (see Photo, red line was where we docked). It was about a 15 to 20 minute ride in the shuttle bus into the city Centre. Isklaar Posted March 26, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 26, 2019 (edited) We were there on Ovation in December. We docked in the city at the Nha Rong wharf . It was a short cab ride to the downtown area. The sail in up the Saigon River is something not to miss, as is the sailaway. Edit - I posted at exactly the same time as SKP946. We were in the same place as the photos. The other cruise ship is berthed at a smaller dock, which is where we berthed on Sojourn in 2014. Edited March 26, 2019 by Isklaar

VACruiser123 Posted March 27, 2019 #5 Share Posted March 27, 2019 Highly recommend the Chu Chi tunnel tour as well as the "palace" and a walk around the colonial section of downtown, fantastic port.

We'd pretty much discounted the tunnels after reading this on the roll call forums "Just looking at a few things here & there. Have ruled out the cu chi tunnels based on friends advice.", although the poster never did say what their friends had said about them. We're thinking currently of a day touring and a day just wandering about.

It is centered on the Vietnam war and the North ultimately defeated the RVN after we pulled out BUT it really puts in perspective the challenges we faced as well as how far the other side went to survive and win. Some may be sensitive to that era since many talk about us losing the war. Oh and as a bonus, they have fully automatic weapons that can fired on a range. You buy the ammunition and experience the one of your choice. The wife spent a couple hundred on spa treatments and I spent $200 for a belt of 7.62MM to put through a M60 machine gun on full auto...I think my money was better spent 🙂

bradtarga34 Posted March 31, 2019 #9 Share Posted March 31, 2019 Must have been on the same cruise, good location, I think, we got picked up for a scooter street food scooter tour from the port, really good and recommended, lovely Vietnamese lady drivers in traditional outfits. It was damn hot walking the short distance to get to the port exit, exacerbated by all that concrete you are walking on.
