What time should I leave for Galveston?

Flying in the night before arriving at around 11:30 pm. Almost every hotel in or around Galveston is sold out for those dates. I am probably taking Galveston Limo from IAH, and quite frankly, I am not sure if I should leave at 8:30, 9:30 or 10:30. It takes around 2 hours, so the latest I would arrive is 2 pm god forbid traffic for a 4 pm departure. What are y'all opinion on this? Would this be too much of a risk?

Assuming you’re leaving on a Saturday or Sunday I would leave 9:30 or 10.  That will allow plenty of time for travel and getting through security.   As an aside you can also ask the Limo service what they recommend since they are continually monitoring road closures and such.

Either a Saturday or Sunday in late August.

FYI they are doing massive construction on I45 south of Houston,  a lot of the weekends they close down parts of the main lanes, so I would strongly suggest leaving early.  Worst thing that happens is you get to hang out in Galveston and eat some food.
