Carcassonne - transportation from gates to center of old town

We'll be taking private transportation to Carcassonne before a cruise.

(DH has never been there, and it's been on my "He *must* see it" list for decades!)

I have some mild mobility issues, and I realize that we won't be able to be driven right up to the city center, like I was able to do in the "old days".

Is there any kind of transportation - a bus, van, or ? - that we could use to get to the town center, and then back out several hours later?

I tried emailing the tourist agency there, but apparently the language problems interfered with exactly what we were trying to find out.

Many thanks!

You will probably be dropped off at the Port (Gate) Narbonnaise.  From there to the center of town is 2-3 minute walk.   Mild mobility should not be an obstacle.

Great - thanks!

Good news!
