Hi,

What do you mean open bar? Drinks included? Even alcohol (wine, beer, cocktail)?

Is it mostly the old people we find on board? There's live music?

thank you.

Open bar means alcohol included. So yes, beer, wine, cocktails.

however you can upgrade and buy more expensive wines, spirits etc.

in regards to age, I suppose it depends on how old you are? If you’re 20, then yes most people will be older.

it also depends on where you’re going, we went to Antarctica and the average age was probably 50, with most between 40 and 70.

in regards to music, there was a few musicians around the ship, a small band played most nights.

Cool Cruise is correct. Alcohol - spirits, wine, champagne are included and the brands offered were quite nice. There are up brands available for purchase. On our Le Boreal trans-Atlantic last year I would estimate the average age to be in the mid-50's, perhaps a little older. It was an active and lively mix of passengers 2/3 French, 1/3 Americans, Germans and other nationalities mixed in. We had three sets of musicians - a woman who played classical piano (most often in the Observation Lounge before and after dinner), two young couples that would alternate in the main lounge (a singer and keyboard or piano player). They helped to create festive evenings. Very enjoyable.

Worth noting that it also includes your mini-bar in the cabin. Depending on the cruise type, there may be special events with higher quality champagnes and wines. There is also always a 'cocktail of the day' to try!

I will start by saying wine is subjective.  We found the champagne to be quite good.   We were not fans of the included Red and white wines.  There were a few choices that were rotated throughout the cruise.  The red wine was a big disappointment, especially for a French line.  We sailed from Argentina, so we expected some great wines from Argentina as well.  That was not the case.  We ended up buying a bottle for dinner on several occasions.  We loved our cruise and the Le Soleal.  The cocktails were great!  Our recommendation would be to sample the wine at lunch and then adjust if necessary at dinner.
