Has NCL tightened the purse strings?

I just got off a western Caribbean cruise.  I always got an inside comped immediately after, but now 20%off??? I even spent more than usual.  Also, what good is 20% when they add $140 each for the mystery casino fee?  It may be time to look else where...............

I have been offered inside up to mini suites since 2015 and I had the same offer over the phone for 20% off a few weeks back. So if they're smart they will email or send offers via mail or I'm gone.

I asked if they changed the program and she said no.  I told her that I earned more points than usual.  Her response was some line about that being only important for tier levels on the ship. I thought that 2400 was an inside???

I would also advise calling back to ask another CAS agent.  Can't imagine why they are changing your offers.

Are you asking for a new ship on a high demand cruise?   When I first called about the first season Bliss cruises in Alaska they would only offer me an OceanView.  When I asked about Bliss out of Miami I got a Mini-Suite level offer.

I have 3 CAS cruises this year, 2 taken so far, Alaska on the Bliss in May. I received a postcard last month for an additional complimentary cruise that allows most sailings but specifically excludes Bliss and Pride of America. I understand Pride of America since there is no gambling in Hawaiian waters. Not sure why no Bliss now but I'm sure I can find a few choices to enjoy and I'll get my chance to enjoy the Bliss next month.

  • 2 weeks later...

I used to get more NCL cruise comp offers balcony or above than I could possibly accept. My last cruise comp from NCL was a Haven Spa Suite on the Epic for a 10 day Italy coastal cruise two years ago, and as luck would have it hit a $7,500 jackpot on that cruise and since completing that cruise have not heard from CAS with any offers despite playing a good chunk of that jackpot back.

After not sailing with Princess for a number of years out of the blue last year I got a balcony comp offer from them for multiple cruises and used it for a 10 day southern Caribbean cruise this past January on the Crown Princess. Played on the cruise equal to what I played on NCL and on return home the comp offers started coming in along with some of those cruises extending free play $$ which I never got with NCL. I took the offer for a balcony comp for a 7 day western Caribbean cruise on the yet to be completed Sky Princess balcony for next February and this comp offer included $1,000 in free play.

Sunseeker 810, might be time for you to check out other cruise lines.
