ashhill Posted April 4, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2019 Hi We are sailing out of New York for the first time at the end of October and have booked our transfers and pre cruise hotel with them. They cannot give us the name of our hotel until 90 days before we are due to stay (seems strange) Does anyone know which hotels use Princess use as we would like to have an idea as to where we could be staying Thanks in advance for any replies

princeton123211 Posted April 4, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2019 Princess tends to use the Hilton Midtown on 6th between 53rd and 54th St. A very well located but extremely dull conference hotel. Generally you can get much better pricing by booking direct if you aren't locked into the cruise pricing at both this hotel or a few others that are located nearby. George C Posted April 4, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 4, 2019 I never let cruise line pick hotel, but Hilton midtown is in a very nice location walking distance to restaurants, plays , bars , Rockefeller center, Central Park etc, huge hotel, stayed there a few times. Rare Got2Cruise Posted April 5, 2019 #6 Share Posted April 5, 2019 Why don’t you price out a room on the Hilton web site? The transfer to the pier from that location is probably 15.00 for the two of you. It’s very close.

Per the port schedule on nycruise.com, all Princess cruises in October depart from Brooklyn, not Manhattan...not unexpected as almost all Princess cruises use the Brooklyn pier. As a result a taxi or car service to the pier will be more like $40-$50 than $15.
George C Posted April 5, 2019 #8 Share Posted April 5, 2019 I believe princess always leaves from Brooklyn, have done a few cruises with them from there.

Sometimes Princess cruises that are not closed loop depart from Manhattan and if Cunard also has a ship in port that day Princess will always depart from Manhattan as Cunard has priority access to the one Brooklyn berth. Example: June 17, 2019 Sun Princess transatlantic cruise departs from Manhattan . That day the QM2 departs from Brooklyn. July 21 the Sea Princess is scheduled to depart Manhattan without a Cunard ship even being in port.

If it’s the Statue of Liberty or 9/11 Museum they probably be better off looking in the Financial District for a room. It’s closer to Brooklyn too.
