On the FL turnpike website,  you can map out your route and it'll tell you the tolls you have to go through and their prices. If we got on at the beginning, which is around Orlando I think, and got off at Ft. Lauderdale, I think it was around $20. If I bought one of those temporary Sun Passes, the tolls are discounted, but with the cost of the device plus tolls, it still came out to around $20. If we didn't get that Sun Pass and not all the plazas accept cash, I doubt I'd even bother just to save a half hour.

We'll be in GT on March 9th, so hopefully we'll get to see some whales before they head north.

Thanks for checking on all this stuff for us. I'm curious to find out if the $5 OJ is just for their specialty OJ and if there's still free regular.

Since you said you've been watching videos, I'm guess you have the Premium plan?

We came down 95 so not through Orlando.

Yes. My wife and I both got the premium plan. First time in all of our cruises getting WiFi. Feel less anxious knowing everything is ok back home from our family, dogs and work. Will get it each time from now on.

Lunch time today at the pasta bar. Staff was better today. Embarkation day they were just not on it. We got up to the entrance at 11:55 and there was a short line. (Wait, I thought there were lines wrapped around this ship all the time?)  But everyone in line was going to JiJi for the Wok. We were the first into the pasta bar. No one walked us in and we just picked a seat. They give you a menu at the door.  We sat in the back corner with a view of the Sunshine docked next to us. The fresh parmesan cheese on the center of the table is VERY good.

If you have not been to the pasta bar for lunch...go. We think it is very good. You fill out the menu card with items you want. First is which type of pasta (I go bowtie bc who doesn’t like a formal pasta noodle).  Then you pick your sauce and toppings. Have not had the lasagna yet but the table next to us ordered it and it looked really good.  The bread is ok but they don’t give you butter to put on it. I guess you could ask for it but I need a little bread with my butter.

It is one of our favorite places for lunch on a ship. May sound crazy but we will not go on any ship now that doesn’t have all of the new restaurants. We, however, have never paid at night for any specialty dinning.

Loving your review.  The sports square if very colorful.  I have never seen the pizza line so deserted and full of pizza. Thanks for doing this and answering questions while you are vacationing.

Once lunch was finished we walked down to do a drive by of the fancy new cakes they have for desserts on lido. They are in the back section of the buffet area at the sweet spot. They only have them for lunch and they change every day, except for the German Chocolate. (Maybe that’s the captains favorite?). We had the funfetti one on embarkation day. It was ok but I think we were too excited and built it up to be the best cake in the world.  We tried the red velvet one today and it was good. Cake is a little dry for my taste but the icing was very very good. There is a lot of icing so it makes up for the actual cake part.

When we walked up about 12:30 there was maybe 3 people in front of us, we got our piece and left. We did a lap around lido and came back and that is when we did see a line about 10 people long waiting to get the cakes. It looked like it was moving pretty fast. They have 2 servers cutting and passing out the cakes.

Schwartz is the normal CD on Breeze. He has been filling in for the normal CD on Horizon, Mike Pack, while he was on vacation.

That is perfect for me since I just sailed with him on the Horizon and I am on the Breeze next month.

We got to the skyride about 1:40 and no one was in line. We took a lap around deck 11 to make room for some more food and got back to about 6 people in line at 1:50. Did not take long to get through and they opened right at 2pm. Ropes course opened at the same time and no one was in line for that.

Skyride was fun. Not a lot of work. Takes a little effort to get back up the incline on the opposite side of the track. Will do it again when the wait isn’t very long!

You cant have anything in your pockets. They have lockers for your stuff and you keep the key.

The line has signs that say how long the wait is. So if people are to the 30 minute wait sign...well then the wait time is probably 30 minutes.

Thank you for posting this live review.

Carnival has really upped their cake game.  You rarely see those no taste sheet cake pieces anymore.  The new cakes are better but overall look better than they taste.  Hey at least its not diet Mango cake.

You mentioning everyone hanging out with Topher down at Jack's Shack.  Jack's Shack isn't the cool kids place anymore, its gotten really crowded/popular lately.  Good for Jack though.

We are in a similar situation. We just cruised on Horizon a few weeks ago and have a cruise on Breeze the first week of July.

Do they charge for the Gelato bar?

It is free!  The toppings are great for the ice cream machines too. It’s only open during lunch time.

They do run out so I always start with it.
