I noticed this too.  We were in Roatan oct 2018.   The Bungalow looked amazing however the price was steep for only 4 hrs.    Would be interested in hearing others that took the excursion thoughts

Is this at resort on the east end of the island called Mango Creek? Roads out that way are a bit dicier, long way to go for a cabana. It's nice but for vacation not a day.

If the photo is accurate, it doesn’t look like Mango Creek from their website

Wow! Says you have to walk about a mile....Will ask my son if he knows where this is. Mames Bungalows are also overnight. If you contact cruise line will they tell you

Had lunch with my son who lives part time on Roatan. Said there is a place near Cane (or Camp) Bay that has the bungalows. It is road accessible which is not case with Mango Creek. He is going back for a month tomorrow. If you can find out name of resort you would be going to they can check it out

It's actually .1 miles. I came here looking for info too on the bungalows since I just noticed it for upcoming trip!

Yes, I had noticed that but I find the photo strange - it says destination Canada - wondering how accurate it is.

I tried looking for info on Google, but not finding a ton of info. A lot of times I can find Carnival reviews of trip excursions, but nothing for this one. It's a lot of money to spend on something you can't find any info on.

Lol I have been searching too!

Good idea to look at other cruise lines - I think I have found it!

Must be new certainly nothing like that when I went to Turquoise Bay.

It is definitely Turquoise Bay. Lots of photos on TripAdvisor. I cant believe how much the resort has changed since we were there in 2011!

My wife and I are going on the NCL Getaway out of New Orleans November 2019.  I saw this excursion and booked it immediately.  Let me give some back ground.  Years ago, when doing cruising, my favorite excursion was the Bungalow's on the cruise ships private islands.  The cost was pretty close to this cost ($499.00).  It was always on the beach, always had cover, always had butlers of some sort.  The difference in the past was the food was awful (off the crappy buffet), you had to pay for drinks (I like to drink) and all your got was a couple of cokes in the mini-refreg.  Still, I loved it and so did my wife & Family.  Back then it included a family of four for the price. The difference here is it is all-inclusive.  The quality of the food is excellent (Based on the only review I could find), the drinks are all complementary, it is private yet right off the beach, and since we are on a Thanksgiving Cruise, the kid factor is greatly reduced. The other thing is one entry of $499.00 covers two people (It is not $1000 for a couple).  NOT saying it is cheap, just saying I really love this concept in the past.  It usually makes my cruise.  Just my two cents.

Please report back when you have been. I can’t believe how much it has changed from the low key resort when I was there. Also I can’t believe the bungalows are sold out for my upcoming cruise already!

I don’t know if there are new owners but they seem to have done a lot of construction and renovations, certainly to the outdoor areas at least. We didn't stop for lunch as I had other plans, so cannot comment on the food.

Thank you for responding to me on this topic.  When we were looking at the Excursions, my wife and I saw the Bungalows.  The first thing that came into my mind was, "Those look just like what you see in the famous pictures of Fuji".  Then we saw only one review of the Excursion but it was great.  Finally we saw the concept that Royal C. is using for their island with similar looking bungalows.  The real deciding factor was we had this amount in ship board credits which kind of made it free, "Kind of".  I will report back and my hopes are this will be the highlight of our cruise similar to years ago on a cruise lines private island cabana.

@Sthrngary Can you share an update on this excursion? We are considering it for an upcoming cruise, but not sure if it will be worth it for the few hours we are in port.

Thanks!

Ok, let me be clear, I was on the NCL Getaway.  This "All Inclusive Bungalow for Two" was located on Rotan.  The excursion started off rather rough.  The Getaway could not dock so we had to use tenders.  This also forced us and other to get up an hour earlier which effected how late we stayed out the night before.  The tender ride was awful. It was way longer then it needed to by at one hour.  The tender back to the ship was 10 minutes.  The ships crew seemed to be take by surprise not being able to dock.  So this update would not be fair unless I shared that with you first.

The ride to the resort is 45 minutes.  There is a tour guide in the air conditioned bus with you.  This guide is attempting to share history with you on this island that is kind of run down.  The guide really pushed her enthusiasm a bit to much to compensate for the negative attitudes of the folks on the bus after this rough start. Not her fault but everyone wished she would just shut up.

The resort is nice, not great, nice.  We were escorted to a section right off the beach where the Bungalows were located.  Only those with Bungalows were allowed in this area yet we could go to the beach anytime we choose.  That was a plus.

The Bungalow were very nice indeed.  About eight of them lined up.  Lovely basket of fresh fruit waiting and a chilling bottle of Champagne. Met the butler and bar tender. It was a full bar of nice brands. The shrimp cocktail followed which was very nice.  Lunch was Caribbean Lobster tail with steak.  I rate the food 6.5 to 7.

I got in the water with the provided floating tubes because that is really what I love about this excursion.  Then after five minutes it was time to get the party rolling.  As my neighbors came in the water I introduced myself.  As more joined I waited until 8 or nine folks were in the water.  My was reading her book on the bed.  Then I sprang.  I got the bartender to get the 8 of us in the water shots of tequila.  More folks joined us in the water including my wife.  7-8 shots each later, everyone was having the time of their lives.  No one was feeling any pain I assure you.

When it was time to take the bus trip back to the ship (45 minutes), everyone was singing and happy.  We offered the bus driver $100.00 to stop at the only Popeyes Fried Chicken place on the island so we could get a bucket for the bus.  Seems they only have to fast food places on the Island, Popeyes and Pizza Inn.  The bus driver would not take the bribe.

I had a GREAT time but I always do.  This or any excursion as well as cruises are what you make of it.  You make the determination for you and your guests.  Please remember if you want a 3rd of 4th person, each one is $199.00.

I hope that helps your decision.  Wish I was there with you.  Be well.

I am on the Getaway on Feb. 2 and I was wondering where the Haven line was? I've heard alot about  the confusion for Haven Passengers not waiting in the Haven line.

You might want to ask this on NCL board!

I called and booked this for my upcoming cruise in December and I was told that the extra people were only $25 per person.  Where did you get the $199 per person rate??

When I wrote this post, the "All Inclusive Over the Water Bungalow" was $499.00 for two.  I asked on board how much an extra person was and was told $199.00 per person.  If it is $25.00 per person now, that is the bargain of the century.  Please remember, when I went on the Getaway that Thanksgiving, 2019.  So much has changed between now and then.  I hope you enjoy this excursion.  Remember, even though it is private, engage with your neighbors.  If you drink, careful, the sun, water and unlimited shots can get away from you.  I would be lying if I told you a few of the folks with us, could not keep up but tried.  All I can say is you make your own time on any aspect of a cruise.  Got at it to make it a story you can tell your grand kids.  Vacations are so important especially now.  Enjoy.

Hi, Thanks so much for your words of wisdom.  I will definitely call back to make sure, as in all honesty, I thought $25 seemed to good to be true.  This does sound amazingly wonderful...just what I need right now!!  Thanks again.

We all need this right now.  The right to the place is a little long especially when all you have is coffee in your stomach.  The right back seems short however lets say you have some adult beverages that make the time pass faster.  If it was not for this excursion, I would have this port as a ship day for sure.
