Ettiquette re Private Tour Tipping

What is the protocol regarding tipping for a private tour from an owner/guide?   Generally we are generous tippers, but wondering in this case since our cost is several hundred dollars paid directly to the owner/guide himself, with no cut going to other parties.  Thanks.

I don't think such a financial arrangement ought to lead to an additional gratuity unless you are  extremely pleased with the tour and the guide's services.

What is the "tipping culture" in Croatia?  That's what I'd go by!

 

 

Ok..I looked it up.  In Croatia, it's common to "round up" and leave that as a tip for most services.  For tours, if it's a GREAT tour, 10% is the common amount....so no need to over-tip!

I tip if I like the tour/excursion.

 

If it is a group thing, then normally $20 for the two of us.
