Whisper Cape Town to Greenwich - a segmenters view

Not so obvious in the photos, in addition to the mirror Whisper, there are people walking on the Dome. It’s not as exciting as the convict walk on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, but you can go up with sandpaper if you wish.

SS, this photo is from the inside of my eldest University which he'll be starting in September (Graphic design) ..... Couldn't be much closer to the dome! Zoom through one of the top windows!

The start of the dome climb is literally 30 yards from the Uni.

Once again late to the party!!

Thanks to all, particularly Silver Spectre and Les37b for enthralling imagery, both verbal and pictorial.

Concerning Wi-Fi, I was on Regent Explorer - the line's newest ship  earlier this year,  and the Wi-Fi oscillated between OK and abysmal and non-existant.  On the last afternoon of the cruise - approaching Los Angeles, when people were trying to check in for flights, I was in the Internet room.  The service was so bad that the IT guy in the room warned us that he was going to shut down and reboot the whole system.  Presumably this disconnected devices that were connected but not in use, and so free up bandwith for actual users.

So it is not just Silversea, older ships and location!

Thanks again to all

Kindest regards

Master Echo

Catching up on all the great pix while flying home. Have not been able to keep up this past week. Love the free Wi-Fi on Delta with T-Mobile!

Always enjoy that Thames sail-in. Thanks for continuing to post.

  • 1 month later...

Did anyone manage to upload any more photographs or video from the KWV Cellar lunch on 17 April? I have seen some video of the Tygerberg Childrens Choir, but no video of the young soprano, Amira, singing. She has her own charitable foundation and performed to raise money to build playgrounds in some of the underprivileged areas of South Africa. Nobody from the charity where there, except her mother, so there is no real record of her performance! She is an extraordinarily talented young lady. Her foundation is www.gelukskinders.org/en/

Gelukskinders means "lucky children"

Many thanks

Alan Jones
