Restaurant to watch ships leave out of Galveston?

Is there a bar or restaurant near the port area where we can watch the ships leave?  I have never sailed out of Galveston.  We leave Sunday and would love to watch the two ships leave Saturday afternoon.  (We have done this in Port Canaveral)

Willie G’s , marina bar and Grill , deck at Olympia grill site and bring your own because they are closed , fisherman’s wharf , stuttgarden

on map you can drive all way to east on to the map and watch ships come in and leave Gulf of Mexico thru the the main channel . Then drive to To restaurants and watch in Galveston channel to terminal. 

 

Also so stay in Harbor Hotel Hotel and watch from your room windows . 

 

You up can also watch various cams on galveston.com/webcams . Emerald you can watch any ship from terminal all the way into Gulf  or versa Gulf to terminal .

On our last Liberty cruise, we had a very nice dinner at Willie G's, so good location, service, and food IMHO.

Hi, will be stayin Sat at the Tremont Hotel, can you watch the ships leave from there? I know its a crazy question, but inquiring minds would like to know.

Sorry no. Would be nice if they had a roof top bar or something, but your only a few blocks away from the pier.

They have a wonderful roof top bar but view is not good .

Yep your right there it is. I didn't zoom in far enough on the first one to see it. Shame about the view though, that would be awesome.

Fisherman's Wharf has a great view and an excellent all day happy hour, though it is Sunday thru Friday.  No Saturdays, though they still open at like 11AM on Saturdays.  I think we were there around noon on Thursday.  great appetizers, too.
