Are we going to Cuba or what?

"Travel to Cuba will now be limited to family visits, restricting those deemed as “veiled tourism,” said a high-ranking official who spoke on condition of anonymity. That could signal the end of cruises, which started to operate during the Obama years because of an expansion of the categories of travel allowed."

 

we have a cruise booked for next year, so not sure what's going to happen with that. 

 

between graywater sanctions and travel restrictions,  this quarter is looking iffy for carnival corp. 

 

anyone have any thoughts?

our cruise isn't for another year, so I reckon anything can happen, but it sure is scary

I’m curious as well. If the itinerary changes for my Nov cruise, I’m sure my retirement from Carnival will continue.

'The Trump administration is imposing new restrictions on travel to Cuba, national security adviser John Bolton said Wednesday.

"The Department of the Treasury will implement further regulatory changes to restrict non-family travel to Cuba," Bolton said at a speech in Miami to the Bay of Pigs veterans group on the 58th anniversary of the failed CIA-orchestrated invasion of the island in 1961. "These new measures will help steer Americans dollars away from the Cuban regime."

When does this take effect ... and how safe is this now?  Ugh!!!

That's what I'm wondering, although I haven't made my final payment on my Cuba trip yet.

you are probably fine for next week. not sure they would put anything in place that quickly.   but who knows after that?
