We are getting ready to leave on a T?A on another RCCL ship. Do your remember what in room movies free or pay for view were being shown? thanks!

No, sorry.  The little time we were in the cabin, we just watched CNN.

I just returned a week ago, April 14 on the Majesty 5 night with Key West and Overnight in Havana. I noticed the drink card appear 2 days before the end of the cruise. 5 drinks for $35 and can be shared with friends.

Thanks for the update.

That’s the first report I have seen for something other than a 10 drink card and at such low price ( typically closer to $8/ drink).

It caught me off guard when I saw the sign. I'm thinking it's because we were on a 5 night cruise and the card only showed up for the last 2 nights? The card was 5 drinks for $35 however they also charged 18% service charge so the price when purchased came out to $41.30. The sign also said in big letters you can share this with your friends and family. So my husband and I each bought a card and at dinner I ordered a drink and my mom ordered the drink and I handed the one card and they crossed off 2 drinks.

We also just got off the Majesty. I was not expecting much , however the small ship was well laid out , there was plenty of activity on the ship and the staff was outstanding. The Captain has this ships staff motivated .

Key West and Cuba were great stops.

Based on this thread am I to understand that I must choose a dining time option?  It has been a long time since I've sailed RCCL and I kind of assumed I'd be able to eat anytime I want.  Is that not the case?

Also, how much does the Chef's table cost?

Lastly, for this ship, is there any type of option for a "private" pool?  I know that's a pretty stupid question, but thought I'd ask anyway.

For dinner, you can choose traditional dining at 5:30 pm or 8:00 pm - or you can choose "anytime dining".  With anytime dining, you can make reservations or just show up and wait for a table.   You set up your dining at the time of your booking.

Chef's Table was $85 a person.  It is a 5 course / 3 hour experience with wine pairings for every course.  The chef prepares the dishes himself and comes to the table to explain them.  It is limited to 10 people at a table in a private dining room.

Majesty only has 1 pool

Here's a couple of questions....did you exchange US Currency in Cuba for the local currency?  If so, how did you do this?  Did you take an RCI tour in Cuba or do something on your own.  How was the flow getting off the ship (in Cuba)?

Thank you

You can't exchange to Cuban currency in the US - you do it in Havana in the ship terminal.  They have a very good system and the line moves very fast.

We did a private car tour with havanacar.net.  I highly recommend doing a non-RC tour if you want a private tour in a vintage car.  The tours booked thru RC are bus tours.  We did book our tour to the La Zorra y El Cuervo jazz club with RC because we wanted the transportation to and from the club.

It was easy to get off the ship in Havana.  The lines moved very fast and we were off in like 20 minutes.  We read about people taking an hour or more so we booked our car tour for 10am.  The line went so fast that we walked around Havana on our own for an hour before our tour.

This posting has been very helpful,  here's another question.  We are doing a tour with RCI that will take about 6 hours.  Should we exchange US dollars for Cuban or tip in US?

We chose to tip in Cuban currency.  If you tip in US currency, the tour guide will have to exchange it himself.  It is very easy to exchange currency in the ship terminal.

Hi! We're no longer going to Cuba now but I'm glad you got to go. My question is about the room/key cards. Do they do the bands on this ship or just the cards? Thanks!

Just your Sea Pass cards. No wristbands like the new ships.

Thanks for the reviews. We are leaving on Jun 24 Due to the Casino that made us an offer we couldn't refuse.

Kind of what I expected I've heard the HD is doing a great job.

Looking forward to some relaxing days on the ship and Coco Cay.

We have been on the Majesty twice.  I like the wrap around promenade deck for walks and the ability to see what is happening on all aides of the ship.  And there is good dancing in Boleros.  The average OV cabins are a bit small but there are some larger ones on Deck 9.

 Hi,

When we booked, only the traditional dining came up as an option.  Can we change this once we board?  We usually cruise NCL and are used to eating when we are hungry!

I got a paid upgrade to the 2M Oceanview on 9th floor, for July 8th sailing!

2Ms are the old SO (Superior Ocean View) category. There are decent sized rooms. You will be glad you upgraded.

Thanks for posting this. My BFF and I sail on the Majesty on 7/1 for 5 nights. Bummed we aren’t going to Cuba anymore, but making the best of it and am glad to hear that despite being an older and smaller ship, the Majesty is still an enjoyable vessel. It will be my friend’s first cruise.
