Peritoneal dialysis questions

My husband has been on peritoneal dialysis for a year and we’re hoping to do a Princess cruise in October. I’ve looked at some posts here but most of them are old and I have a couple of questions:

since he needs to do it manually according to Fresenius he will need his electric warming pad. Is that a problem to take on board?  Also he plans to take his solution to the ship (it’s a five day cruise and we’re driving to the port). Any tips on how to make sure it makes it to our room?

we have talked with the Princess health people and they sent some paperwork...not encouraging but they don’t say no.

Any orher suggestions would be appreciated

No it won't be a problem to bring the heater, it's a MEDICAL DEVICE and totally allowed and certainly required by your husband.  You can have all of your supplies shipped to the ship.  MAKE SURE everything is there before you board.  Once you're underway, you will have no other chance to get the solutions you need.  If you're bringing all of your solutions, (5 days is going to be a LOT!), then there will be people to load it onto the ship.  I would stay with it until it's in your cabin...insist on that, since he MUST have it.

Hubby is unable to do PD, so we do hero-dialysis at home...lots of training for that!!!

This will be our first cruise when we need peritoneal dialysis.  We have to order the dialysate two months in advance, and the company will deliver it--enough for the 12-night cruise--to our accessible cabin.  (We think that there will be enough room for the 18-21 boxes.)  We have to carry all of the other supplies because the company only delivers full, unopened boxes--usually 30 items per box.  There is, for us, a hefty charge for handling and delivery--about $325.

Our question for anyone who has travelled before with PD:  What would be a good additional tip for our cabin steward?  He'll be carrying out the empty boxes and all of the empty dialysate bags, cassettes, tubes, etc.

Also, has anyone ever taken an accessible tour anywhere in the Southern Caribbean?  Where?  Were they enjoyable and fairly easy to navigate for someone using a scooter and who doesn't walk much?

Thank you for any advice you might have.
