Question about NCL Free airfare

I have booked a NCL cruise out of NOLA (2/7/20).  The promotion I booked under includes free R/T airfare.  After speaking with NCL, I was informed the return fight must be the day of disembarkment (2/16/20).  Well I want the stay in NOLA another 4 or 5 days to enjoy the Mardi Gras activities.  So, my question is, can I call the day of the return flight and cancel, or just fail to show up for the return flight.

Without knowing the specific fare rules (and I suspect they are quite restrictive), I would wager that you would lose out on any value of the return portion of the ticket.  So you would need a separate one-way from MSY to get home.

Promotions have very specific rules.  You want the promo, you agree to the rules.  You want to stay in NOLA, the promo won't apply.

And because of higher demand in/out of MSY for Mardi Gras, it makes sense for both NCL and the airlines to prevent these promo tickets to be used during that period.
