amydandrea Posted May 1, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2019 We have taken advantage of the tax free promotion in the past, but either I haven't seen it or I missed it! Anyone know if it happened in 2019 yet?

Rare luv2kroooz Posted May 1, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2019 Nothing has been marketed as tax free spree this year. Booking are reported to be up. But those types of promotions are usually paid for through higher base fares. If you can cruise in the near future, lots of amazing deals to Bermuda and Alaska. Even though you have to pay the port charges, base fares are ridiculously low, so it works out about the same. $549 plus zero taxes is the same as $299 base fare + $250 taxes. Just came back from a 12 day so can't go so soon, would LOVE to however! I'm going to watch last minute prices over summer months, I have much more flexibility then. When tax free happens, or free grats, I book for a cruise that could be a year away, love grabbing that promo when it happens! 🙂
FLAHAM Posted May 1, 2019 #7 Share Posted May 1, 2019 Let's hope NCL never offers free taxes or grats while only charging full board for beverages.

InfrequentPNWCruiser Posted May 2, 2019 #9 Share Posted May 2, 2019 Last time it was offered, I noticed that many of the sailings had the base price raised up $200 or so, so what you save on final payment is somewhat of a illusion.

Not if you book through CAS. Gamblers made out best with the tax free promo.

I had to add in my DSC at booking to use two Cruisenext deposits. First World Problem🤔
