CruiseVA Posted May 2, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2019 I learned this on my last cruise. Be sure you turn off any VPN service you have on whatever device you have (unless you're unlimited). You won't be able to logout when you are done. I use Google-Fi for my cell-service, they route all traffic through their VPN by default. I totally forgot about that, but, heads up to the Internet Cafe person, that was the 1st thing he asked me. Pretty embarrassing, I've been in IT since pre-internet days doing systems & networking. LOL!
Heyref Posted May 3, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2019 Can you please expand on this? As in dummy it down for the non-teckkies out there - like me.....

Don't fret yourself. Roughly 99.9% of the general public (outside of those who work in the tech sector) will never use, or never even need to know anything about, a VPN. OP would have been better off posting this on the Cruising Technology board where the audience there will be a bit more geeky appreciative: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/677-cruising-technology/

As someone new to Princess, that's just the type of tip that I appreciate seeing on this board.

I doubt more than one other person i know would even know what a VPN was. I use a VPN for certain things. It's unwise to deal with torrents for instance without a VPN. Heck, I even used it to watch the Princess TV show last year.

pablo222 Posted May 5, 2019 #8 Share Posted May 5, 2019 I don't understand why princess doesn't pay the wifi a reasonable wage, so we don't have to tip. 2 1
