SuzeCruz1 Posted May 8, 2019 #151 Share Posted May 8, 2019 Radio Thanks so much for this review. We're on Summit on her Sept. 1 (last cruise of the season) to beautiful Bermuda. Also in a 2A, so I appreciate the photos. We've been on Summit pre- and post-Solsticizing, and are really looking forward to enjoying her new look. The pics of the deep blue water just made me happy.

Mrs Cheech Posted May 8, 2019 #153 Share Posted May 8, 2019 If possible can you just tell me what time the shows are in the theater. Used to be at 7 & 9 so as to accomodate early & late main dining times. Is that still the case? We are on her in Sept and trying to decide on a time for dinner. Thanks in advance. Rare Radio Posted May 8, 2019 Author #154 Share Posted May 8, 2019 5 hours ago, Aralim said: Wow! I was just in Bermuda last October and sailed right past the Fort St. Catherines on the ferry to St. George's, never saw that construction there. Also didn't have any new terminal building going up at that time either. Is that terminal building replacing one of the existing ones, or truly new and supplementing what they already have? And are both projects expected to be finished in the next few months? I'm going to be back in Bermuda on Anthem of the Seas in October, might have to check out that new resort if it's open for business. The government of Bermuda decided in November 2018 that they would demolish the existing King's wharf terminal and replace the whole Pier because it failed testing. The pier has been completed, and the new Passenger Terminal contract has been awarded to WEDCO (West End Development Corp) WEDCO suggested that the New Passenger terminal would be completed by June 2019. It doesn't appear to me that it can be done by June, but I am not a Contractor and I don't work in construction. We shall see. 1

Rare Radio Posted May 8, 2019 Author #156 Share Posted May 8, 2019 (edited) Hello everyone and good day. I am back on board after a very nice day in Bermuda. I rented an electric mini car for the day that I researched when I was last here in Oct 2018. I rented this from Oleander Cycles here at the Dockyard. They offer 2 versions of the mini car. The Anaig Quick is a 2 seat version with front and back passenger configuration. The second one is a Tazzari is a 2 seat version with left-right configuration. They only had the Tazaari when I reserved so that what I had . . . my friend rented the Anaig Quick. Both offer power windows, air conditioning, and radio. Both have a distance rating of 70km which isn’t bad since Bermuda is only 23 miles long. I am tall (6”3”) so these units were not very comfortable (see photos below) They have advantages as these would be perfect during a rainstorm (you would get drenched on a scooter) I think I would prefer the scooter, and not ride during the rain. We drove over to the National Aquarium that I love to visit as much as I can when possible. It is only $10 admission and you can spend several hours there enjoying the grounds. I didn’t stay that long because we wanted to do other things/ We made it over to the Swizzle In. (Swizzle In – Swagger Out) The Swizzle Inn is the home of the famous Rum Swizzle that is very popular in Bermuda. I’m not a drinker but a few friends I was traveling with insisted we go there. It is a fun place to relax and have a bite. We came back to the dockyard and all did some shopping at the many vendors there. There are a lot of shops and places to eat in the Dockyard. I may go over to the Anchor Restaurant tomorrow. I was there last October and it was wonderful. I made it back to the ship by around 5 and we will have dinner around 8 PM. Here are a few pics from today. Radio All passenger back on board by 3 pm Friday. J_Kepler Posted May 9, 2019 #159 Share Posted May 9, 2019 Truly thank you for taking some time out of your vacation to do this. The picture you posted where you set up in the coffee shop lowered my blood pressure several points. The thought of being there in just a couple weeks writing was so satisfying.
Toronto Guy Posted May 9, 2019 #160 Share Posted May 9, 2019 Another thread is talking about the new Deck 10 Aqua cabins being reclassified - and it's true that deck plans have been updated etc. to reflect same - regular verandas now. Wonder if you could ask around as to why they are making this change for us?

JFontaine Posted May 9, 2019 #163 Share Posted May 9, 2019 Radio - thank you! Do you think the construction noise from the new terminal will be bothersome for people on that side of the ship? And are taxis a further walk now? Thanks.

Laurab23 Posted May 9, 2019 #168 Share Posted May 9, 2019 I see the ship is facing a different direction than times I have sailed on her. Any idea how they determine which direction she faces? Rare Radio Posted May 9, 2019 Author #169 Share Posted May 9, 2019 Good morning, and Welcome to DAY 5 of "LIVE" from Celebrity Summit. I'm not a meteorologist but I am thinking that today will be a wonderful weather day. The sun is up, there are just a few clouds with light winds. Today I will hang out at the dockyard and there's a possibility I may grab a scooter for a few hours. Some friends and I may be going to lunch at one of the restaurants in the dockyard. I will definitely go to the Bermuda National Museum right here in the dockyard. I love going there as I go whenever I am in Bermuda. Here are a few images from this morning. Thanks for tuning in. Radio Today will be a nice warm day. I love the water Scooter Parking lot There are only a few clouds I make my way to Deck 12 I need to go the Sunset Garden one evening There is a biker group on board and they brought 15 Motorcycles

The Captain, the Dock master, and the tender maintenance schedule.( If the ship only docks on one side the other tenders cannot be serviced). This information was given to my by the Staff Captain in Celebrity Silhouette. Radio
