Does anyone have any info/ advice? Our April 2020 cruise on Journey had 2 stops scheduled there and is scheduled to be in Kuala Lumpur on Easter Sunday.

A lot can happen between now and then.  Less terrorism, more terrorism?  Who knows?  You just have to go with it in the knowledge that the cruiseline will do whatever they can to ensure your safety.  Not much more you can do unless you decide to cut your losses and cancel, but only you can make that decision.

A very tough call that we are also pondering.

 

The beautiful Sri Lankan people rely so heavily on tourism to their amazing country, but security hasn't historically been their strongpoint and tourists are often targeted by terrorists in these situations.

 

At this stage we are still going as who knows in what country/at what time there may be a terrorist attack, but we will monitor the situation.

 I appreciate the responses 

 I suppose we will go ahead and book flights soon and hope that if there are any changes to the itinerary it will not affect the start and finish ports of call .

We were in Sri Lanka last year. A wonderful land holiday. 

Tourists are often targetted...  when? Where?

I think that bombing three luxury hotels in Colombo on Easter Sunday might be construed as targeting tourists even though Christians were obviously the primary target.
