Liverpool to Madrid

Getting from Liverpool to Madrid is an extremely difficult journey if your previous visit to Spain left you three goals down.

And almost impossible to get there from north London if you've only got 45 minutes to claw back a similar deficit.

But waddaya know - both teams managed it.

Two cracking edge-of-the-seat semi-finals, and now looking forward to an all-English* final

* well, English teams at least, if not players :classic_wink:

Yeah, they really are international teams in English club livery. If the final is half as exciting as either of those wo games, it will be a good game. Hopefully, Liverpool will come out on top.

Affirmative, first time in history the 4 finalists have been from the same country.

Got our seats booked at the local pub for the match on June 1st.🙂🍺

Rangers thumping Celtic on Sunday will be an end to a great week.

It seems there have been 3 teams from the one league several times but as you said, never all four.

Liverpool to Madrid is difficult, but London to Baku is worse ................

first they've got to find Baku on a map :classic_biggrin:

Azerbaijan is not exactly on everybody's travel plans.

It's all about money,F1 GP there 2 weeks ago.The biggest farce is the Qatar world cup.

You don't have to tell me about that one, We were supposedly in the running for that World cup.

Oops , sorry mate.I forgot about that.

No worries, we are still paying for the bid, every junior soccer player has a $10 levy with their registration fees and senior players have a $30 fee still. Talk about screwing the supporters.

We got it in 2026, along with the US & Mexico, but Vancouver doesn't get any games thanks to our Provincial Government not accepting the FIFA conditions. Closest venues to us are Seattle & Edmonton.

Still shaking my head over Russia & Qatar getting 2018/2022.

OMG! What a day of football. Up at 04:00 for Rangers V's Celtic, great result for the boys in blue as Rangers won easily.🙂

Next match was Liverpool V's Wolves. Liverpool 1 up and shortly afterwards they switched to Brighton for there goal. The day is getting even better. Sadly we got 4 more updates from Brighton, none of them positive.

Well at least that's better than my team (Southampton) this season - we've not been getting the results that we've begged for, and have been reduced to begging for the results of our relegation rivals. :classic_rolleyes:

Fortunately Cardiff's results were worse, so it's they who dropped into the abyss.

BTW, I've always had a healthy dislike of Liverpool.

Partly cos we're both port cities but mainly cos of the way Liverpool have been unsettling and poaching our best players. Van Dyke, Mane, Lallana, Clyne, Schneiderlin, etc.

After they were hammered in the first leg at Barca, I was looking for them to take a pasting at Anfield, but they fought back so well that I was actually cheering for them.

But I'm still pleased that they lost out in the race for the Premiership, and hopefully it'll be another 19 years before they win it. :classic_tongue:

Watford for the Cup? :classic_biggrin:

More begging required. :classic_rolleyes:

And the same for CL 😉

PS sorry for nicking your manager! He’s rather good!

Yes, and that gives me a problem for the CL.

I want to cheer against Liverpool.

But I also want to cheer against Spurs. :classic_biggrin:

Although I think Liverpool will win, I'll stick to cheering against them.

It wasn't Spurs'fault that Poch deserted Southampton, Southampton wasn't big enough for his ambitions.

And now according to the media it seems that Spurs aren't either :classic_tongue:

JB

ps I haven't forgotten about Gareth Bale either. But that was Southampton's style - had (note the use of the past tense) a great academy, found and nurtured talent, but then kept selling.
